I bought a Pelikan pen from Niche Pens Ltd, Wales, UK, and received a free ceramic Pelikan statue.
Here it is holding my Souverän M1000. The statue is absolutely gorgeous. As you can see in the way the plumage is rendered the style is art deco.
I like the way they've extended the tail into the base.

My experiences with Lulu.com
Recently I published my novel The Loss of Autarch Starkey on Lulu as a print book. It's a magical realist/fantasy novel I wrote almost twenty years ago. I decided to self-publish because I doubt any publishing house would take it on. Generally I was very satisfied with their service, but for everyone considering publishing with them there are two things you need to keep in mind. First, be prepared, format your work properly, and if you want to design your cover, have an image ready, as well as a text to go on the back. Secondly, you need to keep tabs on what is being done by Lulu. What I mean is you have to remind them from time to time what services you purchased. Another thing I learned is to research promotion before you publish. Some important publications for librarians, etc. will only review pre-publication copies. When it comes to distribution on Amazon and the like, patience is the key. It can take up to six to eight weeks for your work to appear on their sites after it has been approved by the distributor, which in itself can take two weeks.
